Colourful Easter Eggs

We dyed eggs for Easter!  First we poked a hole into each end of the egg.  Blow out the yolk and albumen. We mixed food colouring, vinegar, and a small amount of water into a container.  Place the eggs into the container and let them sit for awhile.  The longer the eggs “sit” in the dye, the deeper the colour.  When they reach the colour you like, remove them from the dye and let dry.  Place into a bowl !

Hoppy Easter to You!

This simple craft creation is perfect for the young and old in your house!  Create a paper bag “nest” to house your Easter treats.  Include a fluffy little bird or chick to complete the look!  Here’s how to make your own little “nest.”

You will need

brown paper bags- lunch size or smaller

scissors* – *safety scissors for those wee, little ones

treats to place inside the paper bag “nest”

First

* place a paper bag on the table

Cut approximately 1/2 to 3/4 off the top of the bag.  Save the cut top half of the bag to “shred” for “nest” filling.

First, cut across 1/2 to 3/4 from the top of the bag.

Next,

• carefully open the paper bag and fold the top edges down, roll, and fold a few more times

Gently roll the bag from the rim to the bottom.

Then,

• Scrunch the bottom corners in to make the little paper bag look “nest” like.

Shred the left over “cut” piece of bag for nest filling.

Finally,

• Add some jellybeans or Easter eggs to the nest.  Place a small “chick” or “bird” into the paper “nest.”

Donate to An Animal Shelter!

Hey, in the summer I am going to donate money I get to a shelter. Right now I have 41 dollars and something cents.  I earn some of the money and I have sold hand drawn pictures of dogs and horses.  You can help by going to your local shelter, and getting food and money for the animals. My goal is to raise 100 dollars but I probably don’t think it will happen.  I am going to try my hardest too reach this goal!

Operation Shoebox Child

I got a shoebox from a restaurant and I am sending it to Africa because I am helping children in that country.  I am going to help by putting school supplies and some toys to play with into the shoebox.  Many children in Africa don’t have a lot of gadgets or DSWs or toys to play with.  When the box is full, I will return it to the restaurant and they will mail it to Africa.

Vote

I didn’t win my school election but I will try next year. You don’t always have to win. Like me, I didn’t win but I am not upset though it is a little sad but I didn’t care. You can alway try again. But always try your hardest even if you don’t win. Never give up on yourself. Always congratulate your components even if you do win like say good job, you did very good, i wish you would have won.
